Drillcore Staff
Matt McBreen
Matt started out in his later teens drilling in Auckland and has been involved in many projects around New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and this has given him experience with a wide array of clients and projects.
His philosophy is all about doing the small things right the first time as well as completing the project on time and within budget.
Matt chooses to use the compact DR5 tractor mounted drill rig that is accessible for most projects. The DR5 is designed to carry out a quick efficient job and is equipped with all safety features including a spin guard and emergency stop buttons.
Having been involved with a large number of projects, Matt has a high level of attention to safety standards and is continually improving through training, education and good management practices. He starts with a toolbox talk before every shift.

Some of Matt's larger project experience:
- Water View SH16 Project - HQ cored holes ranging from 10 to 50 meters including incline holes and packer testing.
- SH16 Barge drilling - HQ cored holes with SPT's, piston sampling and and shear veins.
- Waipukurau Dam Project - HQ and PQ coring ranging from 30 to 50 meters with packer testing every 1.5 metre intervals.
